The Mustache Thing
My 17 yr. old son is growing a mustache... It's not completely there yet but MY GOD, facial hair! I asked him, "Do you plan to shave it off?" He said, "No Way, I really like it!" I, on the other hand am all for shaving because even though he's now taller than me, it's too much of a reminder that he's not a little boy anymore.
Sigh* Where has the time gone?

I recently had a similar emotion when my 11 year old surpassed me in shoe size. Pretty soon I will be surpassed in height, too! Scary!
this may sound odd, but among the first thoughts i had when i nuzzled my new son or the first time was 'oh my, one day this cheek will scratch me'
I agree with you. He should shave it off. I'm in my 40's and still can't grow a mustache. Life just isn't fair. Now go have him shave it. You're his mother and he should listen.
Lizard princess... Yep, it's pretty astounding to have to look upward at this person who once resided in your tummy.
Well Lime, That sounds so much like me thinking, "Someday I'll get to be the mother of a bride." when my daughter was born... Except my thought is just way too silly... While yours was just foresight.
JR... Yes, I am his mother but it's his face. I'm sure if I REALLY objected to it he wouldn't hesitate to get rid of it... However, it's more of a problem with me facing his maturity than it is his grooming... And it's not like he's asking for a tattoo that says 'Mother' across his chest.
